Vention team members
increase in system performance
£12.9M Series A raised with our deliverables
Project description
Given the complexity of the undertaking, the team needed an experienced development partner with both web and DevOps expertise — and Vention fit the bill.
Eighteen of our engineers set to work adding a range of mission-critical features to Infogrid’s core product, starting with a refactored API and repositories for a 60 percent increase in system performance. We also developed floorplans equipped with hyperprecise sensors, analytical dashboards, and configurable user alerts.
The first milestone in the journey was a complete website revamp; our team redesigned the existing solution and created a new one from scratch in just two weeks. Even more impressively, we developed an Android-powered vending machine app from the ground up without access to actual hardware — all due to our understanding of the system architecture.
Aiming to go beyond utility alone and ensure continuous user satisfaction, the team integrated multiple new sensor vendors and set up AWS-backed databases — resulting in a 30 percent more scalable solution and growth across all categories.
As part of special anti-COVID initiatives, we also helped implement the Infogrid Healthy Building System that enhanced the healthiness of buildings and made returning to the workplace more comfortable.
The result
Shortly after Infogrid joined forces with Vention, the company raised a £12.9M Series A led by Northzone — previously partnering with such powerhouses as Spotify, Avito, and Klarna — to further scale its tech.
We have and will continue to bring in our team's best capabilities to help Infogrid make the unfulfilled promise of scalable IoT a reality.
