Project description

Barchart teamed up with Vention to implement new digital offerings to boost customer service. Highly relevant niche expertise and a stellar reference from one of our past clients served as the perfect foundation for a solid, long-term partnership.

First off, our team designed a custom engineering strategy, starting with revamping Barchart’s core web solution. Brand-new capabilities included rich customization capacity, the ability to follow stock market statistics, subscribe to real-time updates, and add your own lists.

In parallel, we were responsible for CommodityView — the solution that gives access to global exchange data, physical commodity prices, and advanced charting. We were executing the full-cycle frontend support, security revision, and development of multiple new components, panels, and charts, which helped Barchart users make informed analytical decisions.

By building the Historical Server API and choosing DynamoDB over a distributed database, we also managed to eliminate huge data transmission delays across servers, empowering Barchart to perform millions of requests in just one second.

The result

Thanks to more intelligent operations brought by our solution, the company has become more agile and flexible and is now better positioned to meet the evolving needs of such reputable clients as Bank of Canada, Goldman Sachs, and Nasdaq.

To date, our team continues to develop additional functionality for Barchart, fine-tuning the product based on the users’ feedback.
