The 2024 In:Vention Incubator is open for applications!

To the US businesses striving to bring their product to fruition, we want to help! The 2024 In:Vention Incubator welcomes US businesses across selected industries to apply for a contest to win Vention’s custom software development services market valued at approximately $150K USD. Entries close on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 5:00 PM ET.

 

Service offering: The 2024 In:Vention Incubator is a three-month program offering the selected winner access to Vention’s custom software development services. 

Service value: The incubator offers custom software development services market valued at approximately $150K USD.

Criteria for participation: Those who are interested in participating in the 2024 In:Vention Incubator must be companies incorporated in the US, have been in business for no more than 10 years, and operate within the selected industries/sectors in compliance with all applicable laws without any restrictions or prohibitions and with all necessary licenses and permits.

How do I apply?

Fill out the entry form with as much detail as possible for your submitted project. You are expected to complete all required fields and confirm your acceptance of the contest’s Official Rules and our Privacy Policy

When do submissions open and close?

Submissions open on May 16, 2024, at 12:00 am ET and close on June 28, 2024, at 5:00 pm ET.

Who is eligible to enter the 2024 In:Vention Incubator?

The contest is open to companies incorporated in any state of the US, including DC, that legally operate without restrictions or prohibitions and maintain all licenses and permits required by applicable laws and regulations.  
 
Companies must be in operation for no more than ten (10) years and operate within the following industries/sectors:  

  • Agriculture  

  • Ecommerce  

  • Education  

  • Financial and professional services

  • Food and drink 

  • Gaming  

  • Health services 

  • Manufacturing 

  • Marketing and AdTech 

  • Real Estate 

  • Telecommunications  

 

Not eligible to participate in the contest: 

  • Current and former clients of Vention; 

  • Companies that are owned or controlled, directly or indirectly, by employees, contractors, officers, and directors of Vention, or by members of their immediate families, or by persons living in the same household as them;  

  • Companies subject to any economic, trade, or financial sanctions, or with whom Vention is prohibited from doing business.

Can I apply more than once?

Participants can only apply once. Additional submissions from the same participant will be disqualified.

How many winners will be selected?

Only one (1) winner will be selected for the 2024 In:Vention Incubator. This approach guarantees that our support results in significant and tangible advancements for the winner. 

How will the winner be selected?

The winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received based on the following criteria: Readiness (20%), Innovation (20%), Market potential (20%), Feasibility and scalability (20%), and Quality and clarity of the presentation (20%). 

Vention will select the team of judges who will evaluate the entries and select the winner. Each judge will independently evaluate each eligible entry, rating each one based on the above criteria. The top entries are then included on the shortlist and further evaluated. In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, an additional judge will break the tie based on the listed criteria. The decisions of the judges will be final and binding.

When will participants be notified of ‘winner’ status?

The winner will be notified via the contact information provided in the entry form by July 15, 2024. Please keep an eye on your email, as well as our social channels and our official landing page for updates.

What is the post-competition process?

Once the 2024 In:Vention Incubator winner is selected, we’ll be your partner every step of the way. Find the full outline of post-competition activities in the Official Rules, under “Winner Notification. Dates and Deadlines.”

What is the prize for the contest?

The prize is custom software development services performed by Vention and/or its affiliates. The duration of the services is three months. Vention will select and assign a team of up to three software engineers to perform the services. The exact scope and objectives of the services will be mutually defined by the winner and Vention based on the details of the winner’s entry.  

The approximate market value of the prize is $150K USD. The prize is not exchangeable, transferable, substitutable, or redeemable for cash. Any difference between the stated market value and the actual value of the prize will not be awarded.  

Only one prize will be awarded in the 2024 In:Vention Incubator.

When can I start services upon winning?

Services will begin on a date mutually agreed by Vention and the winner after all the post-competition activities referred to in question “What is the post-competition process?” above have been completed, but no earlier than August 1, 2024.
