Project description
SVRF aimed to empower 3D artists to create AR/VR content while enabling third-party developers and users to seamlessly share and leverage these creations, including for virtual commerce.
The business vision centered on allowing users to upload VR objects, streamline AR content creation, and integrate advanced AR/VR features into their platforms. To bring this vision to life, SVRF partnered with us for our AR expertise and VR capabilities, resulting in robust solutions such as VR content integrations, a public API, an iOS SDK, and a Unity plugin to simplify AR/VR model integration.

Our solution
To meet SVRF's needs, Vention put together a dedicated team of full-stack, mobile, DevOps, and QA experts. Over two years of close collaboration, we delivered custom features and solutions tailored to SVRF’s unique goals.
The result? A platform that gives SVRF’s 3D artists the tools to create stunning content and makes it effortless for third-party developers and users to share and use these 3D creations.
Solutions for 3D artists:
-
Portal for uploading and managing collections: A user-friendly portal where 3D artists can easily upload new objects, organize their collections, and use filters to find exactly what they need.
-
GLTF-pipeline server: A server that optimizes models and generates preview images during uploads, saving time and ensuring everything looks its best.
-
GLTF format extensions: The GLTF format has been enhanced with new functionality, including the use of video as a texture for richer, more dynamic creations.
-
MacOS server and iOS client: Real-time tools that let artists "try on" face masks as they design them, making the creative process faster, smoother, and more fun.
Solutions for third-party developers:
-
Public API and developer portal: A public API for searching and downloading AR/VR content, paired with a developer-focused landing page to streamline onboarding.
-
Auto-generated API documentation: A website with API documentation automatically generated using Swagger for clarity and ease of use.
-
Language-specific libraries: Libraries for working with APIs in popular programming languages. Initially auto-generated using Swagger, several were manually refined to enhance code quality.
-
iOS SDK: A robust iOS SDK offering the same functionality as the libraries for other languages, along with simplified ARKit integration for seamless AR experiences.
-
Unity plugin: A Unity plugin that effortlessly loads 3D objects directly from the SVRF API and integrates them into game scenes.
End-users deliverables:
-
iOS app with ARKit integration: Featuring the SVRF iOS SDK, the app allows users to try on and customize masks, take photos, and record videos, delivering an engaging and interactive AR experience.
-
Informational landing pages: Dedicated pages providing comprehensive details about SVRF’s offerings and features.
-
Snapchat lenses: Custom lenses designed for Snapchat, enabling users to explore and enjoy immersive AR content.
-
Integration with Auth0 for seamless access: Auth0 integration allows users to sign up and share content in just a few clicks. Uploading files directly to Google Cloud Storage further accelerates this process, offering users an efficient and streamlined experience.
